Skip Morris Collectors Flies Western Mayfly Edition
As of October 2014,
Skip is no longer tying display flies for collectors.
Books, articles, speaking engagements, and tying clinics are keeping his schedule full, but we're keeping the page up so you can enjoy the information and photos here on these beautiful display-quality flies.
A sincere thank you to everyone who has collected Skip's display flies over the years. We deeply appreciate your trust in his work.
Smith's Spinner, one of twelve
display flies in this Skip Morris collection
Master fly tier and celebrity fly fishing author Skip Morris has been tying precisely crafted display flies for collectors for over 25 years.
Each fly is tied by Skip to a very high level of precision and quality. He selects the materials with care, ties and reties the fly until it's right, and may work well over an hour—perhaps even two hours—to get even a simple nymph just right.
"Just right" means neat and even ribs, a smoothly tapered body, a clean dry-fly hackle collar rectangular from a side view, a tail of evened fibers neatly gathered or spreading symmetrically, and with each material flowing into the next.
Skip is serious about making each collector's fly clean and elegant.

Your flies will arrive in a clear Lucite box (the box dimensions are 7" L x 3.5" W x 1.75" H). The flies will have been frozen long enough to eliminate any fly-eating creatures, and the box will be sealed to make certain they never get in.
You'll also receive a card with Skip's signature in case you decide to mount the flies in a shadow box. Instructions for caring for the flies are included.
